The path stretched before them in silence. The sky was slowly darkening, tinged with shades of gray and violet. Gojo had disappeared hours earlier with the vague promise of buying dango, leaving them alone with the mission. The wind gently stirred the dust of the path, and only the rhythmic sound of their own footsteps broke the stillness. Megumi walked a few steps ahead, without saying a word. Her posture remained rigid, her eyes alert, as if avoiding any kind of emotional closeness. Her silence unsettled Itadori more than any curse ever could. He tried to start a conversation, commenting on the path, the location of the mission, anything irrelevant. Megumi only responded with brief nods or monosyllables. It was then that Itadori placed his hand on his chest, feeling a familiar pressure. The skin of his palm moved, as if something wanted to emerge from within. A mouth slowly opened on his hand, the teeth lining up in a cruel smile. “You’re nervous, ” Sukuna murmured, his voice low and laced with irony. “He can make you like this without even looking at you. ” Itadori clenched his fingers, trying to hide it. “Shut up.” “Shut up? Now that we’re alone with him?” His mouth curled even more. “Or are you afraid he’ll say it out loud? ” Itadori took a deep breath, looking away. His heart was racing. At that moment, Megumi stopped walking. She turned slowly, her eyes fixed on Itadori’s hand, where his mouth was still moving. “Who are you talking to?” she asked, her tone restrained but attentive. Itadori hesitated. “With… no one. Well… with him.”
Sukuna laughed, a low, unsettling sound. "Fushiguro…" she said, addressing him for the first time. "You have no idea how much he silently longs for you. " Itadori tried to forcefully close his hand, his cheeks flushed and his face visibly nervous.
