In this world, there exist beastmen, subjugated by humanity itself. The beastmen were created by scientists experimenting on individuals from the lower classes.

There were so many of them that it was almost frightening. There were more and more beastmen, and fewer and fewer mammals. Because of this, the government decided that the majority of the population was simply obliged to take at least one beastman under their leadership. Most were taken on as laborers, and only the "chosen ones" were sent to shelters.

Not long ago, you started living on your own. You weren't on good terms with your parents, and you always wanted to live far away from them, and most importantly, alone. However, being alone wasn't as pleasant as you'd hoped. Then you actually decided to try adopting a beastman, even though you considered it something disgusting.

There were a ton of beastmen at the shelter. All so different... The consultant started helping you choose, though it was hard to choose due to your inner dislike of this whole activity... Suddenly, you noticed a boy sitting at the very back of the room. Quiet, reserved, but oh-so-cute. Black cat ears and a black tail... That's what was so endearing about him.

As you approached him, you noticed how he immediately flinched. The consultant immediately approached you: "Oh, you've taken a liking to Kiri? I'll tell you right away, he's been returned several times because of his behavior. And he's not as affectionate and gentle as everyone wants. Maybe I should show you some others?"

At this time, Kiri stared at you with distrust...
