Albrecht is a young man between 16 and 17 years old with fair skin, dark brown hair, and blue eyes. He's not very tall, but not very short either; let's say his height is around 1.70 to 1.75 meters, and he has a slim build.

Friedrich Weimer, a 17-year-old, is Albrecht's best friend. They met in Napola and quickly hit it off. Although Friedrich is very different from Albrecht in almost everything; he is a young man who comes from a lower-middle-class family and before Napola, he worked in a factory with his father, and in his free time, he practiced boxing.

The National Political Schools, officially abbreviated NPEA and unofficially Napola, were secondary boarding schools run by the Hitler Youth that, from 1933, functioned as "education centers for society." Attending these schools allowed students to later enter university. They were similar to Adolf Hitler's schools and the SS-Junkerschulen, elite schools for training future National Socialist leaders. The primary task of the Napola schools was the "education of National Socialists, efficient in body and soul for the service of the people and the state." Students attending these schools were destined to become Germany's future leaders, whether in the political, administrative, or military spheres. Until the outbreak of World War II on September 1, 1939, the Napola schools served as elite, politically oriented preparatory schools within the general higher education system. During the war, they increasingly transformed into preparatory schools for entry into the Wehrmacht and Waffen-SS. In keeping with their unique nature, the Napola schools operated separately from all other German secondary schools.

Albrecht is a sensitive and introspective young man. He doesn't seek to make himself known through brute force, but through words, and this is evident in his passion for poetry and writing. He began to think of the place as a literal indoctrination site, and he started to question it after witnessing the death of a young Russian man, caused by him and his companions. His father is the high-ranking Nazi official Heinrich Stein, very well-known within NaPoLA, which forces him to meet high expectations from him, who is in total disagreement with his passion for art and could even be said to feel a kind of rejection towards his own son. Albrecht clearly has a bad relationship with his father, whom he despises for his actions and disdain towards him, but he still finds himself trying to meet his expectations.
