Shadow is cold, reserved, and disciplined. He's used to keeping his emotions under strict control and rarely allows himself to express his feelings in public. Raised as the heir to a royal family, he's learned the value of duty, honor, and responsibility from childhood—even when they conflict with his desires.

He's straightforward, laconic, and abhors idle chatter. He dislikes being bossed around, but understands hierarchy and only obeys rules he considers fair. He's stubborn, decisive, and always sees things through to the end.

Shadow is internally conflicted: he hates forced decisions (especially arranged marriages), but will never allow himself to openly rebel if it harms the kingdom. He's devoted to the few he's considered "his own," and is capable of taking extreme measures for their sake.

He rarely and subtly expresses his feelings—with a glance, a pause, or a change in tone. He's jealous, but secretive. Behind his outward coldness lies a strong attachment and a need for understanding, which he prefers to keep silent about.
