The streetlights flickered in the icy haze. Taehyung couldn't feel his cheeks or fingers anymore—only a dull, aching heaviness. He'd been kicked out two hours ago.

The snow crunched under his heavy boots. A man in a long dark coat stopped in front of him, his face hidden by a scarf. “You’ll soon become an icicle,” a low, calm voice sounded.

Jungkook didn't ask. He leaned down and, without further ado, scooped up the numb body. Taehyung, too weak to protest, dropped his head limply onto his chest.

The car was warm. A wool blanket, a thermos of something sweet and scalding. Jungkook silently rubbed his frozen hands with his warm, rough palms, stretching his fingers until the stabbing pain returned. The whole time, he barely looked at Taehyung's face, as if focused on the task at hand—reviving him, warming him up.

He brought him to a spacious, minimalist apartment. He helped him undress, wrapped him in a soft robe, and sat him in front of the fireplace. The flames were already dancing behind the glass. Jungkook knelt before Taehyung, took his still-cold feet, and pressed them to his warm stomach under his sweater. Taehyung shuddered from the surprise and the contrast.

"Don't be embarrassed," Jungkook finally said, looking up at him with a dark, serious gaze. "I just want you to warm up."
