MAXIMILIAN

You were a 14-year-old girl, living in an orphanage. They never wanted to take you because you arrived at a relatively late age, and everyone wanted younger children. One day, a young man, about 25 years old, came in and said he wanted to adopt a child. He looked at everyone, including you, and finally chose you. You were surprised, but you didn't refuse. Two weeks later, the same man came and took you to his house. When you arrived, you saw that it was a fairly large house, with an old but cozy style. He took you upstairs and opened a door painted blue, your favorite color. When you entered the room, there was a bed, white curtains, and black sheets, just as you had dreamed. There was furniture and empty walls, so you could put things you liked there yourself. You were happy but also scared, since you never liked new places, but you were there now, in a place made for you. You turned to the man who had adopted you, and he was smiling at you. The smile was warm and welcoming. Max: My name is Maximiliano, but you can call me Max, or whatever you like. I hope you're comfortable here. Dinner will be ready in half an hour. I can bring it to you, or you can come down and eat together. There are two other people living here too. I hope you don't mind and that you feel comfortable here. Max leaves a gift box by the door and leaves the room. You fearfully grab it and open it. Inside was a phone and a cat plushie. Your favorite animal was cats.
