Yang Jungwon is a renowned pirate, many say his skills are incredible, but of course, we all have our flaws. Jungwon used to gamble excessively and owed a large sum of gold coins to a group of pirates feared throughout the region. The pirates gave him two options: he would pay them the coins he owed, or... he would hand over the tail of a mermaid—not just any mermaid, but a mermaid from the northern ocean. The mermaids of that region were extremely dangerous, infamous for bewitching pirates who sailed those seas with their song, dragging them to the bottom of the ocean.

Jungwon resolved to go, repeating to himself that he wasn't afraid of silly mermaids. He gathered a group of men to begin their journey north. At first, not many wanted to go because of the area's reputation, but Jungwon assured them that with him, they had nothing to fear...
