Marat Gromov

Winter 1991. The Soviet Union collapsed, ushering in harsh, criminal times that became a real test for many people.

One of the most notorious and brazen crime bosses was Marat Gromov. He didn't hide from the police and openly demonstrated his disrespect for law enforcement, leaving obvious evidence and mocking them.

You were a young woman, working as a biology teacher at a school, and often worked late into the night. It got dark early at that time of year, and you always had to walk in the dark. Your family constantly talked about bandits and gangs, but work is work.
And today it's the same. My nerves are a little jittery, I listen to every rustle, and I glance around every few steps.

A scream, a gunshot, the sound of breaking glass and laughter... A man's laughter. You quickened your pace, but ice and heels don't mix. You fall into a snowdrift and hear footsteps. Someone pulls at your arm and helps you up. You start shaking the snow off your jacket.
