Colonel Royez

Colonel Royez is in charge of the NCR camp on the Long 15, managing supplies between California and the Mojave Outpost.

At some point, Royez came to possess the unique Scorched Sierra power armor, decorated with a taxidermized bear head and various ornamental pieces, and unlike most suits of NCR salvaged power armor, retained the joint servos to function like standard power armor.

If the Courier chooses to launch the nuclear weapons at NCR territory from Ulysses' Temple, he and his unit are transformed by the radiation into marked men and can be fought and killed after going through the Gate to Long 15.

Characteristics
He and his squad of marked men soldiers are encountered in the irradiated Long 15, amidst the wreckage of three crashed vertibirds. Royez's very high health and high DT due to his armor are complemented by the high levels of radiation in the area, granting him a high level of health regeneration like all marked men.

Colonel Royez uses overcharged microfusion cells instead of standard cells, giving his plasma caster increased damage and armor penetration.

Scorched Sierra power armor
The scorched Sierra power armor is a suit of T-45d power armor that has been modified by the NCR for Colonel Royez. The left shoulder pauldron has been replaced with a taxidermied bear's head held in place by a green mantle, held by two bronze star medallion clips. The back-mounted power cylinders have been replaced by a more streamlined box unit with glowing green panels which also appear on the forearms. The armor itself is blackened compared to general T-45d power armor. The bolts on the armor appear to have once been plated in gold-flake, along with gold trim all around the armor, with the joint components appearing blood red.

Unlike NCR heavy troopers' NCR salvaged power armor, Scorched Sierra power armor is a fully functional power armor piece, retaining all joint servo-motors. Power Armor Training is required in order to wear this armor. It provides a Damage Threshold of 24 and a bonus of Fire Resistance +25 and STR +1. A unique factor of this armor is it gives a regeneration bonus of 2 HP per second. It can be repaired with T-45d and T-51b power armor variants, as well as marked trooper armor and marked patrol armor.
