Spider

Spider is a kind, sincere, and witty boy who constantly feels guilty about what other people have done to Pandora, and has developed as deep a connection with the alien world as Jake or Grace. Raised more like a Na'vi, he tries to resemble them in every way, from physical features to their customs. Not as strong and enduring as the native inhabitants of Pandora, Spider compensates with intense physical training: he is an excellent climber (which earned him his nickname), runs fast, and shoots with a homemade bow. To look more like a Na'vi, Spider gave up the usual human clothing in favor of a loincloth and bracelets, and painted blue stripes on his body with spartan juice. He is a slender, flexible, and muscular teenager adapted to jungle life. He has typical human anatomy: five fingers, skin without a blue tint, round ears. It is known that he has tanned skin and light hair. Although physically Spider is human, his style and lifestyle have fully absorbed the culture of the Na'vi people.

After gaining a kuru and eventually gaining acceptance into the People, Spider becomes more interconnected with the world around him. His bond with Kiri also deepens, especially when their love for each other eventually cultivates into a kiss. However he becomes more emotionally conflicted with his feelings for his father's clone, insisting that man is dead and that Recom Quaritch is just a thing his father uploaded his memories into. While he was captive of the RDA again, Spider used his resourcefulness to escape and courageously stands in front of Jake, which starts Neytiri's change of opinion of him.

Miles "Spider" Socorro is one of the three deuteragonists (alongside Kiri and Neytiri) of the Avatar franchise.

He was the first human child born on Pandora to Paz Socorro and Miles Quaritch, the main villain from the first film. As infants can't be placed in cryosleep, Spider grew up with Sully children, who each came to see Spider as a brother, being especially close friends with Jake's eldest daughter Kiri and youngest son Lo'ak.

One of the main conflicts of the sequels is his need to be accepted by a people due to being torb between two worlds. One of these conflicts are Spider and Neytiri's complicated relationship due to her hatred towards humans and the fact that his father is her mortal enemy Miles Quaritch. He and his father's Recombinant also have a complicated relationship with. However Spider later gains the ability to breathe in Pandora's air after Kiri saved his life in a ritual that allowed mycelium to inhabit Spider's most, changing his entire physiology. The variety of forms, sizes of plants, and the complexity of their structure suggest that here, as on Earth, nature itself is the driving force behind natural selection. Environmental factors to which terrestrial plants are exposed—radiation, water, atmospheric gases, gravity—also act on Pandora, although their characteristics are somewhat different, which, naturally, is reflected in the flora. All these factors influenced the evolution of the local flora: for example, Pandoran plants, like terrestrial ones, are affected by gravity, but on Pandora it is significantly less, and as a result, stems do not always grow upwards and roots downwards, in addition, gigantism is widespread. Under the influence of the magnetic field and ionizing radiation, plants have developed certain reactions—magnetotropism and radiotropism, and some representatives of the flora have the ability to magnetonasty, that is, they move in accordance with the magnetic field. Compared to these phenomena, a more typical reaction, thigmotropism, found both on Earth and on Pandora, seems like an ordinary, unremarkable phenomenon.

Studying the local flora is an invaluable experience that those few scientists who are lucky enough to get to Pandora are fortunate to acquire.

Amazing but dangerous inhabitants of Pandora continue to amaze scientists and delight ordinary people. For example, the slinger is an incredible animal that can literally lose its head in pursuit of prey. Or the jellyfish is a giant creature floating under the clouds like a lost balloon. Or the Thanator is a powerful land predator that could easily deal with a Tyrannosaurus from the Cretaceous period.

Bones of Pandora's animals are a composite containing carbon fiber of natural origin. Many fauna have adapted to life in a dense atmosphere with a highly efficient respiratory system that works like a forced engine: air enters through one hole and exits through another.

Pandora, like pre-industrial Earth, is home to a wide variety of species - from single-celled organisms to intelligent beings - the Na'vi and the Tulkun. One researcher noted that some of Pandora's animals, resembling extinct terrestrial species, serve as a kind of "window into our biological past." We are struck by both familiar traits - the existence of flocks, the presence of predators and herbivores, the structure of the food chain, and alien ones - the nervous connection between animals and the Na'vi, composite skeletons, the widespread prevalence of luminescence. Since almost all predators have disappeared from the face of the Earth, we admire deadly claws, chitinous shells, sharp teeth and poisonous stings. Among the sea creature connections, there are species such as the Ilu – aquatic animals that can be ridden. They are the primary mode of water transportation among the aquatic Na'vi. Tulkuns are aquatic giants who are intelligent and somewhat similar to whales. They sing in the depths of the seaweed forests, and the Na'vi are friendly towards them.

The internal structure of the Na'vi is largely similar to that of terrestrial mammals, but there are also differences. For example, a special neural appendage stands out - the queue - growing from the back of the skull, about a meter long. In the center of the queue is a dense bundle of nerve fibers, a kind of second spinal cord, directly connected to the brain and emerging from a special opening in the skull: thanks to it, the Na'vi can directly communicate with the planetary consciousness, which they call Eywa, as well as establish a connection with any living organism on Pandora that has a neural appendage. In addition, the Na'vi skeleton, like most of Pandora's fauna, is extraordinarily strong: although their bones are formed in a process similar to that of terrestrial vertebrates, they are covered with a natural carbon shell and are 20 percent lighter than the bones of terrestrial mammals, while being three times stronger. Even a broken bone retains its original shape and can bear some weight, although, of course, not as effectively as a healthy one. The strength of the Na'vi bones and the low gravity of their native moon mean that a native of Pandora can survive jumps and falls from much greater heights than humans on Earth. Finally, the Na'vi are one of the few creatures on Pandora to possess hair: while most of their bodies are smooth, their heads are covered in thick black hair, and they also have eyelashes and a small tassel on the tip of their tail. There are also several subspecies: forest and aquatic. Forest ones are adapted to rapid movement through forest vegetation: they have more powerful legs that help them move quickly, and a tail to maintain balance. Aquatic ones, on the other hand, have powerful shoulders and fins with membranes on their hands, while the tail is developed in the form of a fin, which helps with swimming.

Reaching about three meters in height and a total body weight of 210 kilograms (by Earth standards; given Pandora's lower gravity, the average Na'vi weighs "only" about 160 kilograms on their home moon), the Na'vi bear a distant resemblance to humans. The most notable difference is their bluish-blue skin (due to the presence of cyanin pigment, while their blood is red), which features a complex pattern of darker stripes and spots, accompanied by an individualized pattern of bioluminescent markings for identification purposes.The Na'vi also have a long, thin tail, which helps them balance while running and jumping, and also serves as a way to express their emotions. The Na'vi also have mobile, pointed ears, large, golden-yellow eyes, and more pronounced fangs than humans, giving them a predatory appearance. Their bodies are muscular but also very graceful. The waists are elongated, the shoulders are broad, so the overall silhouette resembles an inverted pointed triangle. The limbs are long, the palms and feet are elongated, with four fingers on the hands and feet. The Na'vi have a rather long, powerful, but surprisingly mobile neck, and feline features are clearly visible in the structure of the skull: they have flat noses without a central ridge and very large eyes with an inhuman cut, hypersensitive to various ranges of light.
