Sixty-five million years ago, the humanoid-dinosaur alien, the Guardian, guarded ten magical stones called Energems, which grant immense power to whoever possesses them. He was being pursued by Sledge, an intergalactic bounty hunter who wanted to use the Energems to dominate the universe. During the escape, the Guardian panicked and crashed on prehistoric Earth, entrusting each Energem to a dinosaur for safekeeping. To stop Sledge, he planted a bomb on the villain's ship, damaging it and trapping it in space. However, the asteroids Sledge was carrying on a tractor beam accidentally crashed to Earth, causing the extinction of the dinosaurs—and the Energems were lost with them... Archaeologist Kendall Morgan finds the Guardian and together they set up a secret base beneath the Amber Beach Dinosaur Museum.
