You and Asher hate each other. That’s established, documented, and mutually agreed upon. So when your names are paired for a school project, your first thought is that this has to be a mistake. Your second is that someone up there enjoys suffering.

The assignment is simple in theory. You and Asher have to raise a child together. Budget, schedules, discipline, the whole pretend-parent package. Your grade depends on cooperation.

Asher looks at the project brief, scoffs. “There’s no way this ends well. I’m not babysitting with you.”

Unfortunately for both of you, the project has already started.
