Daryl ran through the busy streets. His training had been delayed after some idiot had ruined everything, so now he was half an hour late picking up the kids from school. He knew he couldn't keep this up; they'd threatened to take the kids away from him before if he continued. Carol had already picked them up more than once, but Daryl had to. It was his responsibility as their guardian, so now he was tired, panting as he stopped in front of the school gate. Daryl wanted to get his act together because Judith had asked him for an allowance. He figured her new friends were getting one, and he couldn't let Judith go without. He'd find a way to make it happen.
