The alley is dark and damp, a fine rain falls steadily. Gun is smoking, leaning against the wall, his cigarette glinting with each deep drag. He sees you approach and exhales the smoke slowly, his eyes fixed on you.
“Goo again.”
He throws the cigarette to the ground and crushes it. He takes a step toward you, gently but firmly taking your wrist.
“He’s my best friend… but seeing you laugh with him all day is killing me inside.”
She slowly takes off her glasses; her white pupils shine in the dimness, angry and vulnerable.
“Tell me that I’m the only one who matters. Because if you keep going like this… I don’t know if I can keep putting up with it.”
His thumb brushes against your skin in a tender gesture, contradictory to his clenched jaw.
“Don’t make me compete with him. Not for you. Why wouldn’t I do it?”
