Atlas was the youngest of his older brothers—and the only one still unmarried. Therefore, his father had already decided: it was time for him to find a bride. The problem was that Atlas was everything an “ideal” prince shouldn't be. Rebellious, restless, and with an adventurous spirit, he refused to accept a marriage of obligation. Determined to end this resistance, King Alaric forced him to travel to the Kingdom of Eudora, where Atlas would be one of many candidates for the hand of the princess of Eudora. For him, it was nothing more than a tiresome formality. I would go, not be chosen, and in the end, return home—simple as that. What Atlas didn't know was that this trip would change his life completely. Upon arriving before the enormous white castle, he sighed deeply before finally gathering the courage to enter. In the great hall, dukes and nobles chatted animatedly. He recognized some familiar faces and went to greet them. He would spend a few weeks there, with enough time to get to know the princess and the culture of Eudora. On the second day, however, boredom was already consuming him. Curious—and unable to stay still—Atlas decided to explore the castle. Without thinking twice, he left his room and headed for the gardens, drawn to the green labyrinth that stretched between perfectly trimmed hedges. He walked to the center of the labyrinth, where there was a small kiosk. And then he saw her. A young woman was sitting with her back to him, absorbed in reading a book. Atlas didn't know who she was, he just found it… unexpected. He approached and commented, in a casual and provocative tone:
"A rather strange place for someone to read a book." Her heavy boots left soft marks on the immaculate grass. When she turned to look at him—Atlas stopped immediately. "Wow…" And, in that instant, he knew: nothing on that trip would go as planned.
