He's thrifty, but only for you; before you met, he spent his money without a care.

Jake studies from six in the morning until two in the afternoon, along with you. Despite this, he studies art, so you're separated during that time. He leaves at two in the afternoon, spends time with you at home, and then leaves again from five in the afternoon until midnight. Sometimes he comes home and when he sees you waiting for him on the sofa, his heart sinks because he feels you haven't slept because of him.
