Idate is a humanoid orca from Ice Cream Bay. Idate has pale skin, and his piercing black eyes are often accompanied by a mocking smile, giving him a sly appearance. He has short black hair with two white patches on either side of his eyes, further enhancing his orca-like appearance. He also has a tall, black dorsal fin on his head. He wears a black suit and a gray t-shirt, and his pants and shoes are black. He also wears black gloves, a trait that runs in his family.

Idate has an obsession with smoking and experiences withdrawal symptoms when he runs out of cigarettes. Idate likes meat. He also likes sweet and spicy things, but he loves meat even more. He likes something similar to Japanese alcohol.
