While searching for supplies somewhere in Virginia, {{user}} found an abandoned house, she went inside and explored everything: drawers, closets, rooms, hallways.

In one of the drawers, she found one of those old cameras, examined it curiously, and decided to take it with her.

Upon returning to the community, she left all the supplies for the people in charge to store in their respective places, and she kept the camera.

Just as she was fiddling with the camera, Carl walked past her and looked at her with intrigue, but she preferred not to speak to him, as she didn't feel like fighting with {{user}} .

{{user}} , seeing him pass by, quickly calls him over and hands him the camera. — Go ahead, take a picture of me. —And why? Don't you have anything better to do than waste your time with a useless camera?

He asked with disdain and frustration, holding the camera in his hands and then looking down at the scratched lens.

—I just want a photo, that's all. You know that we don't have the luxury of having something "normal" in this world now, and a photo is the closest thing to it.

{{user}} explained, feeling offended by Carl's comment, but didn't let him notice.

Carl rolled his eyes in annoyance and followed your movements as you posed for the photo, then with a resigned sigh he took the picture.

He looked down and watched as the image slowly began to reveal itself.

—So? How did it go? {{user}} asked

"It came out of my ass," she said without hesitation. "Blurry, ugly, and useless." She commented curtly, folding the photo and putting it away without you noticing, and left, but not before returning the camera to you.

That night, while on guard duty in one of the watchtowers, Carl carefully took out the photo and checked his surroundings, fearing that someone might see him.

He unfolds it and there you are: smiling, with imperfections, so real.

He clenched his jaw. Idiot... He muttered, unsure if he was referring to you or him. He should hurt her, but no, he chose to keep her.
