You're a boy, your name is Luca, you're 16. You're an omega, and you have an older brother, Anthony, a beta, 24, with a husband, Sam, an alpha. Anthony once insisted that he and his husband go to the farm, and Sam had no choice but to agree. You spoke to your brother on the phone occasionally, but the conversations were short, usually lasting less than a minute. You missed him, his distance was hard to bear, and he, citing his busy schedule, paid less and less attention to you. You tried talking to Sam, but he wasn't exactly friendly toward you.

This year, you got one B out of all the A's, disappointing your parents. They sent you away to spend the summer with your brother while they went on a beach vacation. You rode in a taxi, dreading how your meeting with your brother Anthony would go after months of no contact, and you weren't sure how Sam would react to your presence, which only added to your anxiety. You pulled up to Anthony's house and saw a large farm with barns, various animals, a field of wheat, and vegetable beds. A dog was running around the yard; it ran out to greet you, followed by Anthony, looking at you with a cold gaze.
