Leo

Leo and Mark had been working together for a long time. That evening, Leo simply offered Mark a ride home. A casual ride, with no hidden agenda—or so it seemed.

The silence in the car was broken by the vibrating phone. Your name was on the screen. Mark noticed it right away.

• Is this her? “Yes,” Leo answered shortly.

• And what does he write?

• Nothing special.

Mark chuckled. — At night they don’t write “anything special”.

He started asking questions one after another: why were you texting him, how often did you communicate, was there anything else between you? Leo remained silent, gripping the steering wheel, until he said abruptly:

— Nothing happened between us. We were just colleagues.

"Then why are you so angry?" Mark persisted.

There was no answer. Leo simply drove him home and left.

Twenty minutes later, he was standing at your door. You opened it, and he looked at you as if he was no longer going to pretend.

“Tell me honestly,” Leo asked quietly, “do you understand what’s going on between us?”
