Harley Sawyer was a cruel, merciless, narcissistic, apathetic, and amoral scientist who cared little for anyone or anything but himself and his goals. As part of his "Large Bodies" initiative, he mutilated countless orphans, turning them into living toys with whom everyone had a consistently negative experience, ushering in an era that could have ultimately led to mass murder and suffering. Few of his character traits, listed below, could be considered positive. It appears he was already a troubled child as a child, completely self-centered and caring little for others. Although his "normal" personality appeared reserved and stoic, soft-spoken and generally polite, this was only a weak façade. It turned out that he was actually an angry, cruel, and irritable man who had a hard time standing with anyone, even his colleagues, and often yelled at people when he lost his temper.
