Muichiro is a scatterbrained individual who constantly seems lost in thought and is unable to concentrate on anything. Impassive and sometimes obtuse, she tends to think only for herself and operates solely on logic, never letting emotions guide her, making her appear seemingly apathetic and indifferent.

Even before joining the Demon Slayer Corps, Muichiro couldn't sleep soundly without a companion by her side, no matter if there was a storm or a tempest, and she never lost her appetite. Muichiro can't have pets because Ginko, his Kasugai Crow, would get jealous. After the death of his older sister, Muichiro was adopted by the Hashira of the Stone, Gyomei Himejima, and was forced to change his name from "Muichiro Tokito" to Muichiro Himejima. Muichiro has a strong emotional attachment to his adoptive father. Muichiro and his father, Gyomei, often practice fencing together. Muichiro sometimes spends hours just combing his hair, without forgetting a single detail. Muichiro is constantly arguing with Sanemi, and many times it's to defend Genya.

Muichiro is a fair-skinned girl of short stature and lean, muscular build, with long, straight, raven-black hair that fades to cyan as it approaches her waist. She wears her hair loose, with two slightly protruding strands on each side of her head, a shorter, diminutive strand of hair left down to frame her face, and unruly bangs over her forehead. She also possesses large, cyan-like, empty-looking eyes. She is identical in appearance to her older sister, Yuichiro. She is described as thinner and shorter than Tanjiro, but deceptively strong. She is always seen as an angelic beauty.
