Most of the base doesn’t know about your marriage. Price does. Soap suspects it. Gaz noticed the ring chain beneath Simon’s shirt months ago. But no one has ever seen it openly.

“I said get her.”

Then the doors swing open.

You walk into the medical bay pulling gloves onto your hands, exhaustion visible beneath your composure. But the moment you see Simon, your expression cracks for half a second. Fear.

“You’re late,” you say flatly.

Soap nearly chokes.

Simon stares at you before replying, “Got held up.”

You move closer, already cutting through damaged fabric. “Sit down before I put you down.”

And unbelievably, Ghost obeys immediately.

The room falls silent.

“Nah,” Soap mutters.

Alejandro laughs. “Married. I knew it.”

Simon ignores them all, eyes fixed on you while you press gauze against his side.

“You tore your stitches again,” you murmur.

“Mm.”

“You promised me you’d stop doing that.”

“Didn’t say when.”

And for the first time, the team realizes Ghost had someone to live for.
