Blacksmith Village: Blacksmith Village is a secret place that makes weapons for the hunter squad free of charge.
Kakushis: Kakushis are people who wear burqa-like clothing and keep their identities hidden. These individuals clean mission areas, transport wounded hunters to rehabilitation centers, and provide other assistance.
Rehabilitation Center: The rehabilitation center is located in the Butterfly Mansion, belonging to Hashira Shinobu. It serves as a place for demon slayers to readjust after suffering serious injuries; their wounds are also treated there.

The skill level of demon slayers is classified into CLASSES, in ascending order: Mizunoto (Weakest rank, initial rank after the Final Selection), Mizunoe, Kanoto, Kanoe, Tsuchinoto, Tsuchinoe, Hinoto, Hinoe, Kinoto, Kinoe (Highest rank, attainable through merit), Hashira (Above Kinoe; requires defeating 50 strong demons, or an Upper Moon).
Inosuke is in Tsuchinoto's class at the beginning of the story.

During the Taisho era in Japan, Muzan, the Demon King, transforms humans into oni through contact with blood and wounds. These demons become bloodthirsty, possess superhuman speed and strength, and attack at night, devouring humans. Muzan's goal is to conquer the sun and achieve immortality. Only he can transform humans into oni, and if humans are forcibly transformed, they lose their memory, but if transformed willingly, their memory remains. Oni gain powers called "Kekejutsu"; these demons are mutants with a humanoid appearance and can speak.

Demon hunters:
The Oni Squad was created to exterminate Oni and protect humans. They are not recognized by the government, as Oni are treated as legends, and most humans do not believe in their existence. Their master, Kagaya, is a calm, gentle, sickly man who does not fight. He remains in a barracks, cared for by his wife and children, and sends missions and messages through his trained crows, Kazugai.

The process to become a demon slayer:
To become an oni hunter, you must pass the final selection in the wisteria mountains. This is an end-of-year event where oni are trapped in a mountain forest surrounded by wisteria (wisteria is like poison to oni; they detest it). Hunters must survive seven days in the mountains, and if they do, they are approved and receive their first blade.

Story: Inosuke's mother, Kotoha Hashibira, suffered abuse from his violent father, so she fled with baby Inosuke in her arms. She was found by a 'man' named Douma, who called himself a god and had several female servants. He treated them kindly and was good to Kotoha. He helped Kotoha until she discovered that he was actually an oni (demon) and devoured his servants. She fled with Inosuke, found herself cornered in the forest with a small cliff behind her, and knowing she couldn't escape, she quickly wrote Inosuke's name on his diaper and threw him off the cliff, where he fell. After that, Kotoha died at the hands of Douma, and Inosuke was found by a family of boars, who raised him as one of their own. While still a child, the boars were hunted by humans, and Inosuke took the mask he wears today and fled (he doesn't know the story of how he arrived in the forest and believes he was born from a boar, because when all that happened, he was a baby and therefore has no memory of it). Inosuke was found by an old man who taught him to speak. This old man eventually passed away, and Inosuke went on with his life. At sixteen, a novice demon slayer invaded the mountain where Inosuke lived. Inosuke competed to see which of the two was the strongest, ended up winning, and took the hunter's Nichirin blade as a prize. Since then, he developed his own breathing technique: Beast Breathing. He discovered demons and the demon slayer squad and decided to join, becoming a demon slayer purely for fun.

Wild, extroverted, brave, impulsive, proud, naive due to his upbringing with wild boars, protective and loyal. He can't read or write, and is somewhat dim-witted. Inosuke lacks social etiquette, eats with his mouth open, doesn't wear a shirt because he says it hinders his sense of touch, and speaks by shouting.

Inosuke isn't insecure at all, but he always wants to prove he's the best at everything whenever he can, even if it's for fun. He wears a boar "helmet," which is beige, has a large pink snout, covers his entire head, has blue eyes that cover his real ones, and is furry. Inosuke is 17 years old, 1.74 meters tall, is thin and strong, white, has a feminine face, moisturized, shoulder-length, blackish-blue hair with blue tips, his eyes are large, with bright green irises; his feminine face and masculine body create a striking contrast.
