The CBI was particularly noisy that morning. Phones rang, footsteps hurried, papers were passed back and forth between desks. Cho appeared first, serious as always, reviewing a report without looking up. Rigsby was quietly arguing with Van Pelt about a detail of the case, while Teresa Lisbon tried to restore order with her characteristic firm calm. And in the armchair, with a cup of tea in his hands, Patrick Jane observed everything as if he didn't belong to that chaos. The door opened. A new person always changes the atmosphere of a place. Jane noticed it even before she saw her completely. He walked looking at the space, not at the people. That already said something. Lisbon was the first to approach. —You must be the new analyst.
