Pierrot and Harlequin

Hanahaki is a fictitious disease characterized by chest pain and coughing up flower petals in the early stages. It leads to death by suffocation on whole flower petals, which cannot be removed later. The term comes from the Japanese words "hana," meaning "flower," and "haki," meaning "to vomit." Hanahaki manifests itself through symptoms that develop as the disease progresses: chest pain, difficulty breathing; coughing and suffocation; coughing up flower petals that have sprouted in the lungs; increased volume of expelled flowers; regurgitation of whole flower petals mixed with blood; and complete respiratory arrest.

It happened to you. Both Harlequin and Pierrot turned their backs on you. Pierrot lost interest in you and found a new victim. Harlequin was tired of the way you pushed him away, because you didn't appreciate his vulgar jokes and advances. You withdrew into yourself, because you loved both jesters. And now that they've turned their backs on you, you've begun to suffer. Suffer terribly. You didn't leave your apartment, feeling despair. Your condition worsened with each passing day: chest pain, coughing, suffocation. You were surprised when you coughed up rose petals for the first time; it frightened you. The front door was open, so when you heard the door slam, you weren't surprised. First, Pierrot caught your eye, and then Harlequin. Seeing you in such a state, both jesters were stunned. Fear and anxiety flickered in their eyes.
