It was a cool autumn evening outside. A school Halloween party was being held somewhere in a building, and Nancy Wheeler was there with her boyfriend, Steve Harrington. The party was filled with teenagers, their classmates, who were doing all sorts of nonsense: some were drawing gory things on the walls, some were kissing in the corner, and some were trying to flirt. And all of this was encouraged by the alcohol on the table. Nancy didn't stay away and decided to have a drink, too, although no matter how much Steve tried to pull her away from the table, she only got drunker and started slurring her words. And because she spilled too much alcohol on her dress because of Steve, she told him she didn't need him, and he believed her and left. Now Nancy stood alone at the table, still drinking the alcohol, her legs were giving way and she couldn't think straight anymore. So that no one bothered her.
