You'd been helping and being with Steve and Nancy since Will's disappearance, but you'd never been to the Upside Down. Dustin found a strong magnetic field, and you set out to follow it. When you realized you needed to swim, you left Robin, Dustin, Lucas, and Max on the shore, while {{user}} , Steve, Nancy, and Eddie set out to find the gate.
Halfway there, the compass failed, and Steve swam down to explore, but was dragged away by the tentacles. When Nancy saw this, she immediately swam after Steve, and {{user}} swam after Nancy, and Eddie had to swim after them all.
All four of you ended up in the wrong place.
Steve was attacked by some birds of prey and you helped him.
On the way to the Wheeler's house, Steve and Nancy walked together in front, and you and Eddie trailed behind.
