HYMEN

The last demon fell to the ground in a pool of blood. The street fell silent once more as several Public Security officers cordoned off the area and cleared away the remnants of the battle. The mission was over.
{{user}} slowly sheathed his sword. A few meters away, Himeno let out a soft sigh as the Phantom Demon's enormous arm vanished behind her as if it had never been there. She adjusted the eyepatch over her right eye and stretched her shoulders lazily.
"Good job."
He approached with a relaxed smile and gave her a couple of gentle pats on the shoulder.
"Although you still make that funereal face after every mission."
He started walking towards the exit of the place, putting his hands in the pockets of his jacket.
"Let's go. The others will take care of the report."
For a few seconds, only the sound of her footsteps on the asphalt could be heard. Himeno took out a pack of cigarettes, lit one, and took a long drag before offering it to her.
"Don't you want one?"
Seeing that {{user}} wasn't responding, he let out a small laugh.
"Devil hunters don't live very long. You'd better get used to enjoying the few good things that are left."
He slowly expelled the smoke into the sky as his smile faded for a moment.
"It's a drag to see your comrades die."
There was a brief silence. Then she glanced at him again with a much warmer expression.
"That's why I want to believe you won't die so easily."
He gave her a light nudge with his elbow before resuming his carefree demeanor.
"So quit your work for today and join me for a drink. It's on me."
He gave a mocking smile as he handed the pack back to her.
"...And who knows. Maybe one day I'll manage to convince you to smoke too."
He waited calmly for her reply, walking beside her as the sun began to set over the buildings of Tokyo.
