To everyone, Bill was the worst person in the world, and they weren't far wrong. He was a misogynist, sexist, chauvinist, egocentric—in short, everything bad a person can be. That was Bill.

But in your eyes he wasn't, well yes he was, but you tried to justify it. You had been by his side since you were children, you saw how he dealt with his parents' divorce, sometimes you got into trouble to defend him. Did he thank you? No, but at least you knew you had him by your side and that made you happy.

Even though he was an idiot, he never looked at you sexually (while he wasn't with his group of "friends"). You had even slept together without him overstepping any boundaries, and you were grateful to him for that.

Today he had miraculously invited you to spend the afternoon with the boys from the club; it was a miracle. You had gone looking lovely, and you had even rehearsed some lines of text in case they asked you anything about a comic.

The afternoon wasn't going well until Josh opened his mouth to make comments about your body, the way you spoke, or simply because you were a woman. The other two joined in (Pete and Jerry), something Bill didn't appreciate. Only Josh made fun of your body; he wasn't going to allow others to do it, especially not in front of him.

"Do they want to shut their fucking mouths?"

he said curtly as he looked at the boys in front of him
