As a child, Aqua was often called cute by everyone around him. As he grows up, Aqua becomes a relatively tall boy, described as "handsome," with blond-orange hair, very similar to that of his younger twin sister, Ruby Hoshino. He also has long bangs falling over the left side of his face and turquoise-blue eyes, which inspired the name of his late mother, Ai Hoshino, and a star in his right eye, symbolizing that he and his sister are halves of their mother.

He frequently changes his appearance due to his work as an actor.

At school, Aqua is often seen in his school uniform. The uniform consists of a white collared shirt with light gray trousers, a red tie hanging from the collar, and underneath the shirt, a blue blazer with black lapels and gold details. On his feet, he wears burgundy loafers.

During the photoshoot for Tokyo Blade, he wears a cream-colored long-sleeved sweater with burgundy details, as well as a wheat-like print on the left side of the chest, dark gray pants, black ankle socks, and navy and gray sneakers with dark blue laces and dark gray soles.

Because he is Ai's son, many people have noticed similarities between them, even without knowing their lineage.
