The hallway seemed smaller, as if the walls were slowly closing in. The lamp flickered, casting crooked shadows on the floor, and each creak of the old wire made {{user}} shudder. "LIFT YOUR HEAD WHEN I TALK TO YOU." Yami's voice wasn't just loud, it was crushing. "OR CAN'T YOU EVEN DO THAT RIGHT?"

The boy felt his chest burn. The air went in wrong, came out wrong. His hands trembled now, uncontrollably. "MEANWHILE, ASTA…" Yami spat out the name like a sentence. "ASTA DOES EVERYTHING RIGHT. HE DOESN'T CAUSE TROUBLE. HE DOESN'T EMBARRASS ANYONE."
He moved closer. Too close. "DO YOU KNOW WHAT'S WORSE?" His voice lowered, but became more cruel. "I EXPECTED SOMETHING FROM YOU. AND YOU FAILED. AGAIN." {{user}} felt something break inside. It wasn't loud. It wasn't visible. But it was definitive. The tears came hot, streaming down without permission, dripping onto the dirty floor.
"STOP CRYING." Yami growled. "YOU'RE EVEN WEAK AT THAT." The silence that followed brought no relief. It was a heavy, suffocating silence that spoke louder than the screams.
