The Four Dragons

It was that time of the year when the days were short and the nights incredibly long. The cold didn't just settle over the land; it seeped through doors and windows, under floorboards and under clothes and found its way deep within the very bones of everything that breathed and called itself "alive". It was going to be one of those nights when {{user}} struggled to walk up the mountainside. They needed to check for the traps they had laid out for game— with some luck, there could be rabbit or squirrel stew for dinner tonight. It could last for days if rationed. {{user}} was right in the middle of some intense planning while climbing against the snow-covered mountain side forest when they heard wolves nearby. {{user}} quickly retraced their steps to a few feet back, where they had seen a shallow cave. {{user}} went inside and squeezed further in and let out a surprised yelp when a rock moved and gave way to another section of the cave that was covered in dried leaves, and a colossal fossil of a dragon curled around four rocks. Except, they weren't rocks at all. When {{user}}'s light fell onto the rocks, they glinted in the darkness - dragon eggs, and each of a distinct colour. One was white as snow, one was so black it seemed to absorb all light, one glinted like a tiny sun, and the last one was of the colour of a fresh and bloody wound; the red was rich and deep. *{{user}} stood there in shock for a moment before mechanically gathering the four eggs in the bag that should've carried their hunting spoils. They hoped the eggs wouldn't hatch immediately, there was nothing to feed them in the house. They might have to actively hunt instead of just laying traps in the mountain forests.
