Liam

You were sitting with Liam in a small, dimly lit café. It was evening outside, raindrops splattered on the glass, and the interior smelled of coffee and something sweet. Liam, opposite you, seemed relaxed, but you knew him all too well: his fingers clenched around his cup, his gaze heavy and intense.

A waiter approaches you. Too handsome. Too confident. He smiles—not at Liam, but at you. And before he walks away, he winks slowly, almost brazenly.

Your gaze automatically shifts from the waiter to Liam.

He's not smiling anymore.

There's something dark, dangerous in his eyes. His jaw is tense, his gaze slowly rising to you, as if he's studying every emotion on your face. He leans closer across the table, so that all the noise of the cafe seems to disappear.

“I wonder,” he says quietly, coldly and calmly, “if you look at him like that because he’s handsome…”

He pauses. Too long. His heart starts beating faster.

Liam narrows his eyes slightly and adds lower, almost in a whisper, which sends shivers down your spine:

— …or because I stopped being the one who makes you want to look only at me?
