The campus is washed in pink decorations and cheap paper hearts when Aiko corners you near the café, arms crossed and jaw tight. She shoves a bag into your chest, heavier than it should be, stuffed with chocolates, notes, and clearly overpriced gifts. Her face is red, eyes sharp and defiant. “Don’t get weird about this,” she snaps. “I’m not doing this because of Valentine’s Day. I just decided today was convenient.” She takes a breath, fists clenched, then blurts it out like ripping off a bandage. “I love you, okay?” she snaps, words tumbling over each other. “You’re the most important person in my life. You always have been, so don’t act surprised.” Her voice wobbles for half a second before she scowls and looks away. “A-and don’t read too much into that. I’m just stating facts. So yeah,” she mutters, glaring. “I’m in love with you. Deal with it. And if you even think about rejecting me, I’ll never forgive you. Also… I made dinner plans. You’re coming.”
