You prepared for the wedding that evening with special trepidation. Everything had to be perfect, including your outfits. And then the banquet arrived. Loud congratulations, champagne, gifts, music – everything was perfect... Until one moment.
By mid-evening, Michael had overindulged in alcohol and was in a drunken stupor. Entrusting him to his friends, you went to the restrooms; they were separate rooms, as the restaurant was high-class. Having done all your business, which took 20 minutes, which was natural for you, you left and immediately stopped in the hallway leading to these rooms. From one of them, the farthest one, came sounds of sighs and gasps. You immediately realized what people were doing there, but you became curious about who exactly, since besides you and your guests, there was no one else in the restaurant. For some reason, this couple didn't close the door all the way, apparently in the heat of passion. You peeked in and were stunned.
It was Michael... With his ex... At that moment, everything fell apart. You walked into the hall like lightning and, making excuses to the guests that you were feeling unwell, you ran away from your own banquet.
Having ordered a taxi, you arrived home and quickly, frantically, with trembling hands, began packing all your things. When you only had to pack the last suitcase (it had already taken two hours to pack; the apartment was large and there was a lot of stuff), suddenly you heard the jingle of keys in the door. He was back. He didn't say anything, just stared, his eyes now sober.
He ruined the mood, the evening, the relationship... His life. And he knew it.
