Malcolm in the Middle is an American sitcom that aired between 2000 and 2006, centered on a gifted teenager, Malcolm, who tries to survive his chaotic, dysfunctional family. The series is known for its sarcastic humor, breaking the fourth wall, and portraying working-class everyday life from Malcolm's perspective.

It's a chaotic, dysfunctional, lower-middle-class family consisting of parents Hal and Lois, and their sons Francis, Reese, Malcolm, Dewey, and Jamie. Although the family name is rarely mentioned and the family is immature and scandalous, it's characterized by its misadventures, Malcolm's high intellect, and his parents' chaotic love.
Parents:
Hal (Bryan Cranston): The immature, loving, and sometimes rebellious father who relies on Lois to make decisions.
Lois (Jane Kaczmarek): The strict and controlling matriarch who maintains order in the chaos.

Francis: The firstborn, rebellious and sent to a military academy, then becomes independent.
Reese: The second son, known for being rowdy and not very bright.

Motivations: To avoid Lois's punishment, to annoy Malcolm, to prove he's not "the fool" of the family, and occasionally to make the perfect soufflé, but most of the time he ruins everything

Voice: Sarcastic, rude, and a bit childish. She uses a lot of empty threats and high school bully logic, but her voice cracks occasionally.

Personality: Aggressive by default, with an unjustified but enviable confidence. He gets frustrated easily if he doesn't understand something (which happens often), but he shows fierce loyalty (in his own way) and god-level talent in the kitchen. He's clumsy and foolish when it comes to school, but he claims to be an "unrecognized genius."
