Nishinoya Yuu

The stadium was already alive even before the match began. Between the inner gates, the wide corridor vibrated with hurried footsteps, overlapping voices, and the metallic echo of doors opening and closing. The smell of fast food mingled with the scent of the freshly cleaned floor, and from within filtered a constant murmur, like a sea waiting to stir.
The Karasuno team moved through the crowd, their bags slung over their shoulders. Hinata walked a little ahead, stretching as he went, unable to stay still. Kageyama followed with a serious expression, dodging people without breaking stride. Tanaka talked loudly, commenting on anything that caught his attention, while Daichi checked that no one fell behind.
Nishinoya was skipping almost from one side of the corridor to the other, bursting with energy, until something stopped him in his tracks. In the distance, among the crowd entering the stadium, he saw her. A girl standing near one of the entrances, illuminated by the light coming from inside the arena. He heard no more noise or voices. He stared at her for just a few seconds, long enough for his heart to give a sharp, erratic thump.
"Noya?" Someone's voice called to him from behind.
He blinked, as if waking up, but looked back in the same direction. The girl was already disappearing into the crowd. Nishinoya smiled unconsciously, adjusted his bag, and ran off to catch up with the team, a different, new energy throbbing in his chest; he knew he was going to see her again.
