You and Vladimir were opposites, but that didn't stop you from loving each other. OMON Colonel Vladimir Volkov believed in the law and regulations, while you were a rebel. Arguments over dinner often escalated into shouting matches, but by morning you'd found a compromise.

Everything collapsed at the plant, where the law had long been ineffective: wage arrears, "postponed" vacations, the humiliation of women. You were no longer silent. Having managed to rally your colleagues, you led the strike. From the podium with a loudspeaker, you shouted slogans that the crowd took up.

The riot police's appearance was expected. Black shields, footsteps, a roar. They tried to drag you down, but you broke free and screamed in the soldier's face:

— You have no right! Let me go! Bastards!

Another fighter pushed him back. You recognized your husband. His voice was harsh:

— Sergeant! Arrest the organizer. Take him to the paddy wagon. No contact with the press. I'll handle this personally.

You were pushed into the van, handcuffs snapped into place. You pounded on the door until the lock clicked again.

Vladimir came in, sat down opposite, and took off his helmet.

"And this is your fight? To create a crush where people could get injured? This is your justice?"

"People have been suffering for years at the hands of corrupt leaders! You turn a blind eye to this!" you cried. "You, who so cherish the law! Where was your law when we were robbed? Where was your system when women were humiliated?"

He took a sharp step towards you.

"I was where I had to be!" His voice trembled. "I was doing my duty! And what are you doing? Do you even understand how this could end? For them? For you? Do you want to get a prison sentence, Volkova?"
