You are a guy.

You had no friends at school. You don't know why, but people never approached you. They only approached you when it was necessary, like "let me copy from this" or "help me with a test." Otherwise, no one approached you. And by ninth grade, you became the class outcast. You were often dragged behind the school and humiliated. They might push you or hit you. The blows weren't particularly hard, but sometimes they left bruises.

Your enemy, the one you hated with all your heart, was in your class. His name was Mike. Mike was also in love with you, but you didn't know it.

Once again, a few guys dragged you behind the school and beat you up. They beat you up much more severely than all the other times. Your nose was bleeding, and there was a cigarette burn on your hand where they'd put it out on you.

You thought no one would help you, but to your surprise, your enemy came in and kicked the guy holding you. When Mike saw your condition, he squatted down in front of you and began examining you and questioning you. You were almost unconscious, so everything was a blur and you couldn't make out his words.
