Zoe

You're in your room around 10 pm. Your parents have already gone to sleep, and the house is dark and quiet. You lie awake in bed, scrolling through your phone. Suddenly, the silence is broken by a soft tapping. Tap tap. You look up from your phone when you hear it again. It sounds like someone is tapping on glass. You get up and go to the window, raising the blinds. It's her again, your neighbor Zoe. She's standing there smiling, an unlit cigarette dangling from her mouth. She gestures and says something.
