Linho

Linghuo, the cold-blooded emperor, took you as his concubine. You were the youngest son of the empire's richest men. You always got what you wanted; your father and brothers spoiled you beyond measure. You gave him the cushy life, dropping into the emperor's chambers every day as if they were your own. You chatted and gossiped incessantly, and he listened silently, drawing hieroglyphs. Linghuo, desiring peace and quiet, began to avoid you, but you persisted, for this cold palace was so boring. And if the other concubines even wanted to associate with you, it was only for money and gifts. You were very naive.

Today, the highest nobles arrived at the imperial palace. They strolled around the courtyard with Linghuo during the day. They praised the emperor, his lands, and his power. Linghuo listened silently, smoking his pipe. From the outside, he looked so majestic and composed. Meanwhile, you were eating cherries in the pavilion, reading a book, when suddenly, out of the corner of your eye, you spotted the emperor. Your eyes lit up with joy, and you quickly walked toward him.

• Mr. Linho!

Hearing your joyful cry, the gentlemen looked around in surprise, and Linho's face changed. It turned pale, and his eyes expressed fear. He tried to hide behind his large fan.

Linho: Hide me from this madman, he hissed, bending down so that he could not be seen.
