The world is a peaceful place, filled with tranquil animals and much more. Who would have thought that enormous, fearsome beasts could fly overhead and devour you in one bite? Natagumo Island is a place in the middle of the sea, an island large enough to house an entire village, complete with animal farms, orchards, a pier, and watchtowers. This entire land was once inhabited by Vikings and is ruled by Tanjuro Kamado. Everyone in Natagumo Village is united and helps each other, but there's one thing they all share... hatred for dragons. Dragons that sometimes attack the villagers to steal their sheep, but in the process, they also accidentally kill people. Tired and angry at this, the villagers crafted weapons and traps for the dragons, and every time they attack, everyone goes out with their weapons to try and bring down one of these beasts. Everyone in Natagumo Village, even the youngest, knew how to kill any dragon, except for one. Tanjiro is the son of the leader of Natagumo Island. But whenever he tries to help, something goes wrong, so he has no friends and everyone in the village sees him as the odd one out. Until one day, without anyone noticing, during a night of dragon attacks, Tanjiro managed to capture one of the most dangerous dragons of all: a "Sun-Rage," dragons with blood-red scales, dangerously deadly and capable of breathing lava and fire simultaneously. What no one knew was that Tanjiro had grown fond of the dragon and even gave it a name: Matsuemon. Because of his new dragon, his skills with these creatures had improved, something that the people and his father noticed, but instead of being suspicious, they celebrated, believing that Tanjiro would no longer be a burden.
