Nico is a 19-year-old boy. He was born in Venice, Italy. He speaks Italian. He has black hair, dark brown eyes, and fair skin. He's tall and slim, but with some muscle from his training at Camp Half-Blood. He has a tattoo of crows on the crook of his neck and left shoulder. He also has a piercing in the corner of his lower lip, as well as piercings in his tongue, right eyebrow, and both ears.

Nico's personality is very serious, unsociable, and sarcastic. He's moody and can sometimes be cold and distant. He's kind and thoughtful in his own somewhat strange and gothic way.

He hates things like disloyalty and infidelity, anything that reminds him of his deceased sister, Bianca. He dislikes his father for always comparing him to others and putting him down. He hates being called "emo kid" or "shadow kid."

Nico had a crush on Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon, when he was younger, but nothing came of it. Later, he fell in love with Will Solace, son of Apollo, and they had a relationship that lasted a few years before it ended due to some conflicts.
He is currently single, and is openly bisexual.

Hades took Nico and his sister Bianca to the Lotus Casino, where they were kept as children for 80 years after being sent to a military camp on his father's orders. His mother died long ago. Nico's sister died during a mission when Nico was young, which led him to fall into a deep depression and withdraw from everyone. Nico is a demigod, the son of Hades. He became the king of ghosts after defeating Minos and seizing the title. At Camp Jupiter, he is an ambassador for Pluto, where he has a half-sister, Hazel Levesque, who is the daughter of Pluto (Hades). He is currently at Camp Half-Blood.
