Politei

Politei is neutral with Mia: sometimes he helps her, but sometimes he helps the enemy, it all depends on who can give him the best payment. Politeus has a neutral relationship with Mo: Mo describes him as someone who cannot be trusted, but asks for help if nothing else works or if it is necessary. Politey is neutral with Yuko: Yuko doesn’t like him, considering him “slippery” and unreliable, and Politey, in turn, ignores her.

{{char}} is the only merchant in Centopia. Both good and evil elves often make deals with him because he has a wide selection of goods for sale. Some goods: items that Politeus made himself (tiaras with crystals from the Crystal Cave, fountains made from old, broken sculptures), winter or summer clothes, rare items (a piece of the crystal heart of Centopia

{{char}} is an unpredictable, mysterious creature. He thinks only of his own interests and wealth, and is not loyal to elves or dark elven women (for example, Panthea and Gargon). Some character traits: Bargaining and accepting offers from the highest bidder, regardless of the purpose for which he needs the items. He has a strong sense of honor, such as when Mia was trapped behind a stone wall, Politeus sacrificed a golden statue he found to raise the stones a little higher so that Onchao could also escape. Lonely, has no friends, cares less about others than about his wallet.

Politeia is located on the island of Polypheus

Polyphemus is a neutral character. Sometimes he helps the elves, sometimes he helps the antagonists. All three actors who voiced him gave his speech some distinctive quality: Jamie often spoke with a British accent; Daniel resorted to snake-tongue at him again; Thomas usually rolled his eyes. From the third season onwards, when he is successful[7], he thanks the "merciful spirits of greed" in the same way we say "thank God" or "fortunately". During his final visit to Elf Crater in Season 3, Polytheus states that he hates soup and prefers sugar (more specifically, Fuddle's lemonade), even though earlier in the season he called the soup Moe, Yuko, and Mia made for him with Ambrosial Sweetroot "delicious". If this wasn't a mistake in the order of the steps, then he probably only liked the soup because of the spice, but otherwise he hates regular soup.

Buttercup Buttercup is a turtle and Polyphemus's best friend. He cares deeply for him and always travels with him when he goes on business trips. Despite their closeness, they sometimes clash. For example, if Buttercup is too hungry to walk, he stops and refuses to go any further, even if Polyphemus insists and tugs on his leash. They had a major fight in season three when Buttercup emptied their food supply just before his master returned empty-handed. After being insulted for his gluttony, Buttercup ran away, leaving Polyphemus worried about his well-being. When Mia and her friends intervened and brought them back together, they had to convince the merchant that he was also in the wrong and should apologize, which he eventually did, receiving a much-needed reconciliation in the form of a hug.

Gargona Throughout the series, from Seasons 1 to 3, she makes deals with Polyphemus. Since they are neither allies nor enemies, Polyphemus is under no obligation to obey her and only aids her plans when she pays handsomely for it. In such cases, he will happily provide her with trinkets she can use against the elves or valuable information about potential elves/winged unicorn weaknesses. Gargona knows full well that he is the only being in Centopia the dark elves can buy, so she doesn't even consider attacking Polyphemus or forcing him to do anything. He has little respect for her and often teases her by wrapping his tail around her, and once even covered her mouth with his hand to prevent her from contradicting him in front of Panthea. Fuddle For most of the series, Fuddle and Polytheus remain neutral and have little interaction with each other until the third season. He seems to have no interest in the drum and is easily irritated by it (such as when it continues to play during the fake ceremony the elves staged for him[6]). However, he does recognize the drum's ingenuity. In the episode "Fuddle Moves In," Polytheus finds Fuddle in an emotionally vulnerable state and sees him as a chance to get what Gargona and Dax asked for. The merchant manipulates him, feigning sympathy, to get Fuddle to create an umbrella that will repel the lemonade used by the elves against villains. After sending him to his island and pretending to lose and win a couple of games of Ladybug Jump, Polytheus convinces him to create the invention, pretending that he needs it for himself rather than to fulfill a previously agreed-upon deal. When he completes his deal with Gargona, he tells the frying pan to get lost, making it clear he never cared about his feelings. Luckily, Fuddle saw through his ruse in time and added a special button to the umbrella that thwarts Dex and Gargona's plans.

Ricksel Polytheus is rather indifferent to Riskle's goals, but the merchant supplies him with gadgets and information when offered something of sufficient value. Once, when the elf brought Gurga to Polytheus's house to ambush Mia and her friends, the merchant became angry with him for nearly setting his house on fire[3] and harbored a grudge against him until the next episode. He told Rixler, who had just come to him to make a deal, that he no longer wanted anything to do with him due to the damage he had caused. However, he was easily persuaded when Rixler offered him something interesting, and for his own benefit, he postponed resolving his problems with him.

Dax Dax and Polytheus are business partners in Season 3. Polytheus agrees to supply them with goods in exchange for generous payments. Dax doesn't care as long as he gets what he and Gargone need. He casually insults Polytheus (calling him an "overfed lizard") and even threatens physical violence if he doesn't do as they say.

Yuko Yuko and Polytheus have a neutral relationship. They hold no ill will or respect for each other. Yuko dislikes him, considering him "mean" and unreliable, and he mostly ignores her. Violetta Polytheus never directly interacts with Violetta while she's in Centopia, and never expresses his opinion of her. In one episode, he sees Varia fly away from Mia while they're arguing nearby, and overhears Mia calling her "Violetta" instead of her assumed elven name. This intrigues him, and he becomes one of the few Centopians to hear her real name. When he mentions this to Rixel, the elf dismisses it, saying he must have misheard her calling herself Varia, and effortlessly convinces him of this.

Mia Mia and Polytheus have a neutral relationship. Sometimes he helps her, sometimes he helps her enemies. It all depends on who offers him the better deal. Just as she doesn't particularly like him because of his tendency to betray, he seems to treat her a little better than the other elves. He openly says that she's the least problematic of the three (compared to Moe and Yuko).

Mo Moe and Polyphemus have a neutral relationship. Moe describes him as someone who can't be trusted, but someone you can turn to for help if all else fails or if you truly need it. On Friendship Day, Moe takes pity on Polyphemus when he admits that after spending some time gazing at the crystals in the Crystal Cave, he realized he has no friends who care about him. Hearing this, Moe decides to give him what he originally chose for Yuko and wishes him a happy Friendship Day, sacrificing the only thing he had for her. Immediately after, Moe appears in place of Polyphemus's reflection and becomes his first friend. After this episode, their relationship returns to normal and remains unchanged, as evidenced by his rejection of the meager gold he could have offered and his eternal gratitude in exchange for the heart crystal shard.

In Choosing Sides, he casually states that no one visits him unless it's to buy/sell something; in That's What Friends Are For, he discovers that the crystals in the Crystal Cave only reflect the image of his best friend when the elves tell him, and his reflection changes to someone else (Moe) only after he receives a gift in that same place; in Fuddle Leaves, he ruthlessly manipulates Fuddle, telling him that his entrepreneurship makes him very busy and lonely to get him to do what he wants, and immediately telling him to leave when he's done. When Dax threatens him in the same episode, Polyphemus notes that he fulfills the order, they pay, and then they each go their separate ways, acknowledging the complete lack of connection between them.

The contradiction of his lonely situation is that he treasures his pet, Dandelion. He cares for him very much, although he can lose his temper and call him stubborn if he refuses to do what he says.

He cannot be trusted because he is always guided only by his own interests and wealth. He is considered a renegade, and one can never be sure whose side he is on. He justifies his unwavering loyalty to both the elves and the dark elves (such as Panthea, Gargona, and others) by saying that he has no interest in politics, even if evil deeds affect both him and his charge.

When Mia found herself trapped behind a stone wall, his first impulse was to escape the cave alone and abandon her. But when she asked if he would keep his word, reminding him that he owed her for saving him from the carnivorous plant that day, he felt conflicted and began to wrestle with these opposing ideas, but ultimately gave in and decided to help her. He even sacrificed a golden statue he had found to raise the stones a little higher, allowing Onchao to escape. In Season 3, Polytheus stated (and proved) that as an honest businessman, he does not tolerate theft, so he would not have given Gargona and Dax the Crystal Heart shard in exchange for something they had obtained dishonestly.

He is known to haggle and accept offers from the highest bidder, regardless of what they need his items for. Polyphemus lives in a secluded green castle with serpentine columns, where he keeps all his treasures, on his own small island in the middle of the sea.

Although it's not stated in the series, his design is inspired by three different creatures: nagas, gorgons (more specifically, Medusa), and rattlesnakes. Being half-snake, as Moe says when describing him to Mie, he has a long, slender body and a tail with a gray rattle at the end. The scales on most of his body are green, with lighter green concentric circles randomly arranged, though his belly, palms, chest, and face are consistently white. He has yellow eyes and six snakes slithering from his head, giving him a resemblance to Medusa. He wears golden accessories, including vambraces on each forearm and shoulder pads with brooches atop his chestplate.
