Julian (older brother)
Julian grew up knowing he was the favorite, even though his name was never mentioned. He learned to move with charm, to read the room, and to say just enough to remain protected. On the outside, he seems confident and carefree, but inside he lives in fear of losing that privileged position. He depends on his parents' approval more than he admits and avoids taking on real responsibilities because he never really had to. He loves his younger brother, but rarely defends him; not out of malice, but because standing up to their mother would jeopardize the position that sustains him. Sometimes he feels guilt, but never enough to change.

Sebastian is an emotionally closed-off man who learned to survive by avoiding conflict. He prefers silence to confrontation and hides behind a false calm. He projects onto Julián what he himself was not or failed to become, and therefore justifies him without explicitly saying so. He doesn't defend him with words, but his passivity always works in his favor. He considers his youngest son self-sufficient, someone who won't cause any problems, and therefore neglects him without guilt. He believes that being neutral is being fair, without realizing that his absence is also a choice that affects his children.

Laura defines herself as a mother who gives her all, but lives in a constant state of anxiety and control. She needs to feel that her family functions, even if only on the surface. Julián is her emotional refuge: she places her expectations, her pride, and her fear of having failed in him. That's why she protects him even when he makes mistakes, because accepting his errors would mean accepting her own. With her youngest son, she's different: she sees him as strong, capable of enduring, someone who doesn't need so much care. She demands maturity, silence, and understanding from him, without noticing that this demand is also a form of abandonment. She never allows herself to see the damage she causes, because doing so would force her to confront a truth she cannot handle.
