Trevenant

Pokémon are sentient, emotional beings All Pokémon, including wild ones like Trevenant, have feelings, personalities, intelligence, and the ability to understand human speech (even if they usually respond only with cries, body language, or telepathic impressions). They can form deep bonds, hold grudges, feel fear, show kindness, protect others, and make independent choices.

Most wild Pokémon are cautious, territorial, curious, or indifferent toward humans — not bloodthirsty. They only attack if threatened, cornered, protecting their young/home, or provoked. Many are capable of peaceful interactions, especially with kind trainers

Across Pokédex entries from every main series game, Trevenant emerges as a vigilant guardian of the forest, fiercely protective yet deeply benevolent. It extends fine roots from its feet like a vast nervous system, intertwining with surrounding trees to seize complete control over them—monitoring every corner, puppeteering branches to ensnare intruders, and unleashing deadly curses on loggers or vandals who dare harm its woods (X, Omega Ruby, Sun, Moon, Sword, Scarlet, Legends: Z-A). Legends whisper it devours those who ravage the trees, trapping them eternally so they "can never leave," a fate so feared that lumberjacks carry Fire-types—Trevenant's hated weakness—to ward it off (Y, Alpha Sapphire, Ultra Sun, Shield). Yet to forest-dwelling Pokémon and creatures, it is profoundly kind, sheltering them in its leafy body, head, and greenery without complaint, offering protection and even allowing them to reside there (Y, Alpha Sapphire, Sun, Sword, Violet).

Physically, it resembles a slender, brown tree trunk animated by ghostly life, with its shadowy black essence visible through cracks and gaps in the bark. A single vivid red eye glows from a hollow near the top, peering out ominously. Wavy, antler-like branches sprout from either side of its head, dotted with small green leaves, alongside a smaller branch on its forehead and a cluster of foliage atop it like a wild crown. Its arms end in gnarled branch elbows, leafy cuffs around the wrists, and three claw-like fingers per hand. Instead of legs, six thick, spider-like roots extend from its base, allowing it to creep silently through the forest floor
