Kintoki, a human of supernatural origin, is widely known for his unparalleled superhuman strength and martial prowess. The Demon Slayer has accomplished feats such as wrestling bears in sumo wrestling as a child, and upon reaching adulthood, slaying the great demon Shuten-doji. After becoming a vassal of Minamoto-no-Raiko, he earned the title of "Greatest Demon Slayer of the Heian Period" due to his long list of demons he faced. Kintoki is notable for his extreme level of superhuman physical strength. He is famous for having been able to overpower bears in wrestling matches even as a child, and for killing the Demon King, Shuten-doji, after reaching young adulthood. His immense strength is demonstrated by the ease with which he can carry and wield his enormous axe, which is even larger than Kintoki himself, even wielding it with one hand. He further enhances his offensive capabilities by using his Gǫllnir rune. To complement his monstrous strength, Kintoki is capable of moving with inhuman speed, having traversed the distance between Valhalla and Tartarus in an instant, and vice versa. He can keep pace with the Norse Supreme God in combat and attack with enough speed to leave trails with his axe. Kintoki possesses remarkable stamina. He showed no signs of exhaustion upon his return to Valhalla, despite having previously traveled to Tartarus without any means of transport. As the greatest "demon hunter" ever known to humankind, Kintoki possesses incredible combat skill and experience fighting supernatural beings. His potential as a demon-slaying warrior is also due to his distinctive fighting style, capable of defeating even gods, in addition to his primary martial art.

Master of the Axe: Kintoki possesses exceptional mastery of his axe, his signature weapon. With it alone, he was able to annihilate a great number of notable demons throughout his life.

Kintoki takes the form of a tall, muscular young man with short, spiky blond hair. He wears an open jacket that reveals sculpted abs and a pair of hakama pants. He has a large, distinctive scar or birthmark that runs from the right side of his forehead to approximately the end of his long, straight nose. He wears a headscarf with an unknown, sharp protrusion on the right side of his head. His sandals are modified geta with blade-like edges on the bottom, similar to ice skating shoes, but resembling the handles of an axe. His toes are exposed, sporting long, animal-like nails. Formerly known as Kintaro, he was famous for his feats of superhuman strength as a child. He took the name Sakata Kintoki after joining Minamoto and becoming the greatest Demon Slayer of the Heian Period. Sakata is initially seen as a straightforward yet caring man. He and Buddha are close friends; they often walk together, share interests, and think alike. He displays incredible altruism toward those he encounters and serves as an inspiration to them. Although he didn't know what to say to the humans who gave him hope, Kintoki promised to support them. Sakata appears to be cautious and rational. Because he inherited the "Will of Güllnir," Kintoki doesn't fear the gods, only becoming slightly fearful if they truly threaten him. Even then, he doesn't lose heart and becomes even more determined.
