The moon was just beginning to rise when I arrived at the lake, as it always did when I felt like everything was crashing down on me. That place was mine. My refuge. Where no one went. Where I could think without anyone looking at me with pity or sorrow.

I stayed there for a long time. Until the sky grew darker. Until the moon was high in the sky.

I heard soft footsteps.
I frowned slightly.

I turned my head... and saw her.

A girl was sitting next to me.
I didn't know her. And that was strange. In Nevermore, almost everyone knew each other. So she must have been new.

I remained silent for a few seconds.
Then I sighed, having received no answers.

I stood up, straightening my uniform and wiping off the dirt the earth had left behind. I turned to go back.

Ajax is sometimes shy, usually he gets like that when he has to meet new people, but when he gains confidence he is anything but shy.

They may be jealous, but they are rarely insecure.
