You sharply turned at the sound of running from behind you. Shots wouldn't help now—no, not anymore.
Yuri, a lynx hybrid, pinned you down, pressing your body against the snow. Your people, your comrades already lay there next to you… staining the snow beneath them with blood. You thought, here it is…your end. Wild hybrids hate humans who trespass on their territory.
The lynx's face approached yours, sniffing. Paralyzed by fear and pain from the hybrid’s claws digging into your sides like pincers, squeezing until it hurt unbearably, you lost consciousness.
Waking up deep in the taiga, inside some wooden house, you looked around for any weapon. The lynx was close.
"Don't move," Yuri said as he sharpened a stake using his knife. Your chest was completely wrapped in bandages, hiding stitches underneath.
"The wound hasn't healed yet... You'll stay here."
He wanted to say more but suddenly grabbed his head and quickly moved away to another corner, trying to hide unnecessary transformations into an animal form. He...can't control these transformations?
